Freebies – they really do exist…

The first time I signed up for a freebie I was a little skeptical. Why a company would want to not only give me a free product, but also pay for the shipping. Later on I learned that companies spend thousands of dollars each year on promoting and advertising their products. Their goal is to get me hooked on their product so I will continue to buy it week after week, month after month and year after year.
When my very first sample arrived in the mail I was ecstatic. I mean who does not want to open a mailcox and see something fun besides boring bills?! From then on I continue to sign up for freebies, when opportunity presents. I now always look forward to checking mail with hopes that something besides bills is waiting to be opened. This past year I have received tons of free magazines, toiletries and food items just to name a few. My husband loves freebies too. In fact if he is the one checking our mailbox and there is a food freebie, he nicely eats it before I come home.

Last month I decided to do an experiment and collect all the freebies that I would receive in 30 days. Please note that if have no use for the item that companies are giving away for free, I do not sign up for it. Because freebies most of the time go fast, I believe it is fair to leave freebies for those who are actually going to use them. Anyhow, below is the picture of all the magazines and items that I received in one month.
If you wonder why I read baby magazines, let me explain. Although we do not have children yet, I hope that one day God would bless us with little ones. So why not get a head start on educating myself about diapers, formulas and crying babies. The first time the baby magazine came in the mail I had to explain to our post master that I was not pregnant I just like getting free magazines. We live in a small town, so I figured she may have wondered why I read Working Mothers. So, my friends, next time you see an offer for a free sample, sing up and wait for your surprise in the mail.

I hope you will enjoy the Wholesome Harvest Bread recipe if you try it. It is my husband's all time favorite bread recipe!
