Homemade Chicken Broth

Chicken broth can become very expensive if bought at a grocery store, plus one can is packed with sodium and preservatives. So why not make your own healthy chicken broth for pennies.

Ingredients:
Whole chicken
Water
Onion
Any seasoning

Directions:
Place chicken in the crock pot and add water enough to cover chicken. Then cut up onions, you may also want to add a little bit of garlic. Spice it up with your favorite seasoning and turn your crock pot on low. Let it cook for 10 hours.

After the chicken broth cools off remove chicken from the crock pot and pour the liquid contents through a fine mesh strainer into another dish.

If you don’t need to use chicken broth right away, you can pour into ice cubes and freeze it. It takes approximately 10 ice cubes to make up one cup of chicken broth. It taste wonderful and the best part it is healthy and free!!!
